If I may have a moment.
Back where I come from, Earth for those of you unfamiliar, we have a holiday on this day to celebrate Mothers, Mom's, givers of life and packers of lunches.
Because my Mother is...no longer with us, I just wanted to share a memory that I think kind of sums up motherhood.
Even growing up I always wanted to be a detective just like my old man and the guys in the old black and white movies you know? Well as much as I got encouragement from my old man or my sister no one had my back more then mom.
Sometimes I'd try and find mysteries just around the neighborhood...and if I thought I found something suspicious I'd always rush home to show her what I'd found. Even if it was something stupid like [dry laugh] a yard gnome. She always would stop what she was doing to look at it with me and ponder what it could mean. Then when I came home frustrated because I hadn't found anything she'd always give me a hug and tell me I did great. Something about your mom telling you that makes everything better you know?
I even remember her helping bundle me up extra tight one year because there was a Noir movie marathon at the Megaplex and even though it was snowing like the end of the world she fought through he storm and helped me skip class so I could see it.
Mom's are amazing like that you know?
Alot of us here are cut off from our families...for those who aren't you're the lucky ones. Cherish them every day you can.
Go on, hug someone. You know you wanna.
